Advisory
Advisory classes have about 17 students, and advisory teachers have a special responsibility to monitor their students’ progress. Our advisory program ensures that we know our students well and that they are inspired and successful. It is all about assisting and encouraging students to achieve academic success. Students build community, voice their concerns and develop strong study habits.
HALA promises to create not only good students but good human beings that will do good things and help the society in the future. After all, that is what a high school should be all about.
HALA also offers afterschool help for the students. Each teachers holds a weekly afters chool session where a student can go to the teacher for help. There is Saturday school available in certain months. There are always Regents study hall that begins in Early January and also Early May. It takes place every Saturday for 4 hours which helps the students out a great deal.
HALA offers KAPLAN SAT course to the juniors each year. The course takes place for 3 months to prepare the students for the SAT. Usually this course requires more than a thousand dollars if someone wants to do it outside the school. However, HALA offers it at a steep discount
